Get Involved
We would appreciate your help, input and opinion but we understand you may have, time constraints, lots of commitments and that these can vary week by week. BUT there are lots of ways you can get involved in research and we can adapt it to suit your lifestyle. Keep reading and you’ll see how!
Click this flyer and have a look at some of the things you could help us with……
- YCRN website development
- Developing information packs to give to patients completing a research trial to introduce them to the group and show them how they can go on to contribute to new research projects
- Reviewing protocols for vaccine studies
We can email or post documents to you to comment on such as:
- Patient Information Sheets that explain trials to patients - You can tell us if what we have written can be understood by people who are not part of the medical profession.
- New protocols (the document that guides how a trial is undertaken) – You can tell us for example if the number of tests or visits to hospital as part of the trial are acceptable
Short Term Projects
If you have a particular area of interest you may want to get involved in specific projects, for example:
- helping us develop our websites
- helping to produce a newsletter
- helping to develop a protocol for a specific trial
‘One off’ meetings
If you are not able to commit to a long term project you may for example:
- want to attend a meeting to discuss a new research idea – you will be able to contribute to decisions about what we research
Regular meetings
You can become a member of a committee or group that meets regularly. These can be with one of our partner organisations.
